On the Move
When I’m not teaching, writing, or speaking, you can probably find me hiking or planking. My favorite way to spend my free time is traveling, and I like to do a side plank in front of unique destinations. It’s become such a characteristic of me that I’ll actually do planks almost anywhere.
In the Unites States, I have 11 states remaining to visit out of 50. I’ve yet to touch ground on 2 continents. There are 12 more hikes before I reach the tops of all 48 4,000 footers in New Hampshire. I’m a goal setter and a list maker, as you may have guessed.
I love my home in Connecticut. It was built in 1666. It’s super old for the United States, incredibly cozy, and I swear when it snows in winter there is not better place than snuggled up in front of the wood stove looking outside.
My life partner, Matt, and I have been together for 18 years. We raise honey bees and have two hives—Buzz’em Buddies and Bee’s Company.
When I teach Pilates to group classes, I’m known for telling stories while the class holds a 90-second plank. Sharing stories is another of my favorite pastimes. Figuring out what the story is, even in the more mundane parts of life, is fun. I credit my parents with the challenge. No matter what happened when I was a kid, they would say, “Well now you have another story to tell.”
I love making and sharing good memories with people. I look forward to working with and getting to know your community.
